Hey, it’s been a while…

I haven’t written in a while. I just moved states, from Texas to North Carolina for better health care. Why North Carolina? Well, its near Duke Migraine Clinic, but also 5 hours closer to Mayo Clinic in Florida. My doctor in Midland, Texas basically fired me for having a “too complex” migraine condition. I appreciated his honesty, but that still didn’t help me. Plus I need access to Cognitive Behavior Therapy for those with Chronic Illness and PTSD.

I know I could have moved closer to home, maybe Dallas or Houston, but I needed to stay with family so the burden wasn’t so hard on Stephen. When I fall into a bad state, it’s a lot to keep up a household, let alone be a full-time student and work part-time and/or full-time. My sister lives in Fayetteville, so now we do too. I knew I could get access to what I needed here in a military town. Now just waiting on insurance. Hopefully that end of things goes well and I can get therapy started sooner than later. My kids are super excited to start high school. My son especially, it’s his first year. They’re also happy to enjoy their cousins (their ages) and play Play Station in person and not online!

I’ve done so well keeping my migraines at a low pain level. I’ve even had a couple of days where there was no migraine at all!! These are the most exciting, like I’m on top of the world! Really, it’s probably more my medication than anything else. I’m still eating Keto (with a few slips here and there) and continuing with my supplementation. I’m more active than I was before now that I am upright most days. Certain stresses are still a major issue for me, but hopefully that will resolve over the next few years while in CBT.

I hope to find a part-time, work-from-home job really soon. I want to get back out there and take part in daily living. Bring in a little money doing graphic design or writing and enjoy the fruits of my labor. I have a graphic design retainer now that is working out really well. I’m loving it!! I don’t want to push myself too hard, so I know a part-time gig would be perfect for me.

Well, I’m going to job search! Keep me in your thoughts and hope for the perfect job!
